July 29, 2011 – Halloween can be one of the most fun of all the holidays. Whether hosting a Halloween party or just wanting to provide a little fun for trick or treaters, Halloween decorations can add to the enjoyment of the holiday.
When decorating for this holiday, decorations should have plenty of the traditional black and orange Halloween colors. However, this is one holiday where any of the earth tones will fit into the scheme. In addition, purple is growing in popularity for the holiday.
In choosing outdoor Halloween decorations, it is important to consider lighting. While, there needs to be some darkness to give the eerie Halloween feel, there needs to be enough light that little ones headed to the door for candy are not likely to trip. Halloween lights, much like those used to decorate for Christmas, in the typical colors of the holiday, are one way to accomplish the lighting needed. Keeping the lights down low ensures that the path is lit without taking away from the creepy feel of the home.
One way to quickly add a creepy feel to the house, both inside and out, is through the use of fake spider webs. These fibers cling to almost anything and can quickly transform the most beautiful of homes into something to frighten everyone. Another quick way to decorate the yard or home is with large inflatables. These Halloween decorations use a large air pump to keep the nylon spiders and witches filled with air. Turn off the air pump, and the inflatable falls back to the ground, ready to fold away for storage.
Halloween calls for lots of candy to hand out to the little goblins that come to the door saying Trick or Treat. Decorating both inside and outside of the home can help everyone to have more fun.
